Frequently asked

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

No. Text is extracted and the .docx is built entirely in this tab. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Will this preserve the original layout and formatting?

No. This extracts the text content only, one paragraph per source page, into a plain editable document. Fonts, columns, images, and tables from the original PDF aren't reproduced. If you need the words in an editable file, this gets you there; if you need a pixel-accurate copy, it won't.

Why not preserve the layout?

A PDF doesn't store paragraphs, columns, or tables as structured data the way a document editor does. Reconstructing that reliably from arbitrary PDFs isn't something that can be done accurately in general.

Does this work offline?

Yes, once the page has loaded.
