Frequently asked
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No. Redaction happens on a canvas in this tab. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Is this real redaction, or just a black box on top?
Real redaction. A black box drawn over live text still leaves that text selectable and copyable underneath. A well-known way redaction tools fail. This tool instead flattens any page with a redaction box into a plain image, so there's no text left underneath to recover.
Does this affect pages I didn't mark?
No. Only pages with at least one box get flattened. Every other page keeps its original vector quality and selectable text.
Can I undo a box after drawing it?
Yes. Hover over any box and click the × that appears to remove it.
Does this work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded.
